Are you interested in being a model? If you are, the Fresh Face Showcase wants to meet you. This sounds like a scam, and of course the public has reason to be skeptical. Modeling schools and agencies deceived aspiring models and actors out of their money every day. Amazingly, Fresh face Showcase isn’t one of them.

Shaan Sharma, the showcase director, was one of the thousands of deceived models. He spent $5000 on modeling school, photography and talent searches only to find he had gotten nowhere. After realizing he was not the only one who had been scammed. He started the showcase to help people so they don’t make the same mistakes and fight back against exploitation of modeling talent.

The organization is a nonprofit organization that helps aspiring models and actors get their start. Not only is it free, but the showcase also works to protect, educate, and promote models and actors. the showcase will give models a chance to meet and talk to people from the industry along with giving them runway training and experience.

There are two conditions of entry. First, if models wish to participate in the showcase, they must audition. The other is that, in order to participate in the final show, models must attend every practice, If this isn’t a problem, the showcase is a great way for aspiring models and actors to get their foot in the door.

The show will consist of 70 local models, clothing from local designers and boutiques, professional hair and make-up and music. They expect 1,500 to attend the event, including modeling agency representatives. Being in the showcase would be a great way to be noticed in the modeling industry.
For this who feel they have no talent to show in the showcase, there is another opportunity to get involved. It consists of attending the third annual fresh Face Showcase Show on April 23 at the Quest night club. Attending the show would be a great way to support Minnesota’s up and coming modeling and acting talent.

Liz Crichton, an NCC student who has modeled in the past, said she would consider modeling in the showcase because she ‘would get to wear cool clothes.”
