Fresh Face Showcase Launches Weekly Talent Searches Every Tuesday, starting September 20th, the Fresh Face Showcase will hold a weekly informational meeting and open call for those interested in getting into professional acting or modeling. The open call will be held at the beautiful Varsity Theater in Dinkytown from 6:00pm-6:30pm. For the first 20 minutes, we will share information on how to get started in the business the right way, how to avoid scams and making other costly mistakes, and a brief Q&A session. For the last 10 minutes, representatives of the Fresh Face Showcase will be available to meet with each individual and interview them for potential involvement in FFS Fashion Shows, Free Workshops, Film/TV Projects and Theater Performances. Each person in attendance will receive a free, informational packet including instructions on how to get started, and contact names and numbers of top reputable agencies and photographers. Now, anyone can meet with us year-round to access all our opportunities and relationships with modeling and acting agents, producers and directors. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Fresh Face Showcase is a non-profit organization committed to protecting and educating modeling and acting talent, especially those that are minors and those new to the business. For over 3 years, we've worked hand-in-hand with top local agents, casting directors and 100+ high schools and colleges to educate hundreds of aspiring talent, helping them avoid making costly mistakes, and connecting them with legitimate opportunities for representation. Since 2003, we've hosted 3 large annual fashion events at First Avenue and The Quest Nightclub to celebrate our mission and spread the word about it. Over 30 unique local press stories have been done on us, including 3 front-page stories in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press and Minnesota Daily. Visit www.freshfaceshowcase.com for more information. Please help us inform the public about these open calls. Downloadable posters and flyers re: open call are available on our website. Working together, we can build a stronger acting/modeling market by preventing talent from getting exploited and informing them about the right options. |
